Teeth Grinding & Jawline Slimming

Masseter Botox is a non-surgical treatment designed to create a slimmer, more contoured jawline by relaxing the muscles in the lower face using targeted Botox injections. It is particularly suitable for individuals who feel their jaw appears square, wide, or overdeveloped.

At Prestige Dermal Aesthetics in Ashby De La Zouch small, precise injections are placed into the masseter muscles to reduce clenching and tension, gradually decreasing muscle activity and size over time. This leads to a softer, more refined jawline appearance, with results that diminish gradually as the treatment wears off.

In addition, masseter Botox can also help manage bruxism (teeth grinding) and may reduce associated symptoms such as tension headaches.

Cautions for treatment

Alcohol can increase bruising which should be avoided the day before and after treatment.

Vigorous exercise, sun exposure, sun beds, sauna should be avoided for 48 hours after treatment.

Botulinum toxin works by blocking nerve signals to the muscles, which reduces the force of contractions. As muscle activity decreases, the muscle gradually shrinks in size, resulting in a softer and more contoured jawline over time.

Botulinum toxin has been proven to be safe for human use, in the low doses used in aesthetics. However as with all treatments, side effects can occur which include:

Redness around injection site

Slight swelling or tenderness might be experienced, but normal activities can be resumed immediately.

Aftercare advice will be provided to speed up recovery.

Botox is administered into precise points of the masseter muscle using ultra-fine needles. The treatment is fast, usually lasting around 15–20 minutes, and causes only minimal discomfort.

Within 2–4 weeks, you should notice reduced tension in your jaw, and if facial slimming is a goal, you may begin to see subtle changes as the muscle relaxes.

Results typically last around 3–6 months, so a follow-up treatment may be advised depending on your desired outcome.
